Every bride wants to feel stunning on their wedding day. All eyes are on you, after all, and you’re in the spotlight.

This poor woman feels terribly vain to admit this, but she thinks she looked like such a mess on her wedding day that it’s keeping her up all night thinking about it.

Her wedding itself was incredible, and it was only made better because all of her favorite people on this planet were in attendance.

“I’m usually a pretty confident person and happy with the way I look, but my appearance felt like such a disaster when I look back at photos,” she explained.

“I want to kick myself for not realizing on the day of that it wasn’t the right vibe for me or not trying the full look on/taking photos in advance to realize that it didn’t look great altogether.”

Let’s start with her sort of custom wedding dress, which she thinks looks like a bad dream. One of her family friends made it, and it was a rip-off.

She told her friend the budget for her dress, and her friend quoted her a number a little above that. Her friend went on to use the incorrect fabric, which resulted in her dress looking incredibly cheap.

Meanwhile, the dress cost more than the other ones she tried on in stores, which were absolutely lovely. Throughout the process of making her wedding dress, her friend wouldn’t reply to her and would act inconsiderately.

In the end, her mom and dad told her she had to pay for the dress, or it would be humiliating for them.

“I spent so much money and time trying to fix it, but it still turned out so badly from different angles,” she said.

She’s disappointed that her Maid of Honor didn’t give her any support or honest feedback, which could have prevented her from walking down the aisle in a disaster.

Her Maid of Honor later on admitted to her after the wedding that she could understand why she disliked her dress.

That only made her feel even more terrible about what was supposed to be the most special day of her life, and she wishes her Maid of Honor had spoken up sooner.

“If I hadn’t spent as much time and money, I feel like I’d feel less upset, but I look back and just feel my stomach backflip when I see a lot of the pictures,” she added.

“I untagged myself from most of the posts from our photographer and friends [who] came to the wedding because of it. My makeup and hair also turned out pretty badly.”

“My trial looked way better, but on the day of the wedding, my brows looked barely done, and a bunch of eyelashes were applied weirdly.”

Her hair was alright if you were looking at her head on, but the back of her head and one side looked crazy.

Sadly, these sides were the most obvious when she was standing at the altar, and they’re the most showcased in all of her wedding photos (not the good sides).

She didn’t notice any of these things on her wedding day, and she didn’t take a look at herself in the mirror.

She was trying to live in the moment, and so she failed to pick up on her appearance. She wishes someone had said something to her about her lash mishap or had stepped in to help make her makeup look better.

“I am so frustrated because it was the best day ever, and I hate letting my appearance cloud how I feel,” she continued.

“I look at photos of myself and cringe because I know I look way better on a day-to-day basis. I don’t want to go back to redo photos because that does not feel authentic, and my husband (bless his soul) thinks I’m crazy when I tell him how I’m disappointed in myself for not trusting my gut or being more aware of these things.”

“I can’t help [but] be sad that this was a day I was supposed to feel really beautiful, and I just look back feeling like I don’t look great. Any tips from other brides who have maybe felt badly about their appearance after the fact?”
