Her Boyfriend Stole The Necklace Her First Love Gave Her And Gifted It To His Sister For Her Birthday
It’s been nearly a year so far that this girl has been dating her boyfriend, Adam. They met while she was in the U.K. pursuing her master’s degree.
Let’s rewind to her sophomore year of college; she had a different boyfriend named Kyle, who tragically passed away. She was with Kyle for three years, and she still feels the pain from losing him.
“When we started college, Kyle gifted me a locket with the word “most” engraved on the back of it,” she explained.
“It was our thing; it meant he loved me most. Sappy, but it was ours. Since his passing, this has been my most valuable possession, and I do not go anywhere without it. It is my last piece of Kyle.”
She struggled to complete her college degree, and then she realized she needed a fresh start. It was then that she chose to move to the U.K. and get her master’s, which is how she met Adam.
Adam is the very first man she has permitted herself to have feelings for since she lost Kyle. She adores Adam, but he recently did something unforgivable.
All along, Adam has shown that Kyle brings out his insecurities. Adam will question her about whether she would still be dating Kyle instead of him if Kyle had never passed away.
Adam also asks her other questions, and she avoids them all. She doesn’t feel she should answer Adam and give him a reason to keep asking ridiculous things.
But that’s not all: Adam gets upset when she posts on social media about Kyle for the anniversary of his death or birthday. Adam views this as her not loving him and still being in love with Kyle.
“No matter how many years that pass and how much I love Adam, Kyle was my first, and his life was cut short,” she said.
“He was also my best friend. I will mourn his life forever, even if I have moved on romantically.”
Two weeks ago, she ended up losing Kyle’s locket. She’s been tearing apart the apartment she shares with Adam, desperately trying to find it.
It all happened after she took the necklace off to shower, and when she was done, the necklace was nowhere to be found.
Adam told her that he had no clue where it went and suggested that perhaps it fell. She cried for several nights in a row over losing the necklace.
Now, Adam has a sister named Jane, who just turned 21. After her birthday, Jane posted in a private story on social media a photo of a locket that Adam gifted her to celebrate.
This was no ordinary locket; it’s obviously the one that Kyle gave her, and Adam clearly stole it for his sister. As for how she knows this is her locket?
It has the exact same engraved word on the back, and she’s not sure what story Adam spun to explain away the meaning of it.
She doesn’t have the closest bond with Jane, so it’s not like she can just contact her and bring up that Adam stole her birthday gift.
“I also feel silly bringing it up to Adam in case it isn’t the same locket, and I am just going insane and looking for excuses because I was careless and lost it,” she added.
“I don’t see where else Adam would have got this locket, as it was made for me by a small business back in the States. She was local to Kyle and I, and her work [has] always been my favorite.”
“Advice on how to ask Adam about this? I know if I do, he’ll deny it either way, and this locket means the world to me. I need it back.”
