She Found Out Her Boyfriend’s Childhood Female Friend Was Actually His High School Sweetheart, And He Lied To Her About It For Two Years
Right after this 21-year-old woman graduated high school, she began dating her boyfriend – who she met through a mutual friend and is currently 29 years old.
Her friend had actually been in a bad accident, and her boyfriend, who worked in healthcare, was super supportive while her friend was recovering. That’s how they came to hit it off, and they’ve been inseparable for the past two years.
Now, one of her favorite “highlights” of their relationship is their “Friday night tradition.” At the end of each work week, she and her boyfriend get together with their mutual friends to just catch up and relax.
“It’s been a tradition for six months now, and I absolutely love it,” she said.
“Everything was going great… until last week.”
That’s because, just last Friday, she found out that her boyfriend’s 27-year-old female childhood friend played a bigger role in his life than she previously thought. And it was romantic, not platonic.
For some context, she’s always known about his friend, who he claimed was “like a sister.” However, when she and her boyfriend first began dating, she thought perhaps he and his friend had dated in the past.
“But he assured me that nothing romantic ever happened between them. He was so adamant about it that I believed him,” she recalled.
His female friend, on the other hand, has never been very nice to her. She’s tried to be friendly and make small talk with the girl. Yet, according to her, her boyfriend’s female friend constantly just makes passive-aggressive remarks about her age.

For instance, whenever his friend sees her driving, she’ll get asked things like, “Are you old enough to drive a car by yourself?”
These comments have seriously gotten under her skin in the past, but she did her best to ignore them for the sake of her relationship. Still, after what she learned on Friday night, she’s unable to overlook her feelings any longer.
The issues all began when one of her boyfriend’s old buddies visited town and joined their hangout “tradition.” While they were just relaxing, the guy became a bit too drunk and started reminiscing about old memories.
Then, completely out of the blue, he blurted out how her boyfriend and her boyfriend’s female friend were actually high school sweethearts.
“I was stunned. I had no idea. My heart dropped, but I tried to play it cool until we got home,” she explained.
Once they made it back to their place, she finally confronted her boyfriend, and he was forced to come clean. He admitted to dating his female friend during high school and swore he didn’t have any romantic feelings toward her anymore.
“But here’s the thing – I’ve seen the way he looks at her. There’s something in his eyes that he can’t hide, and it’s killing me,” she vented.
Since finding out the truth, she’s taken some time to herself to think everything through. Thankfully, her boyfriend has also been respecting her space. Even so, she can’t get over the fact that her boyfriend lied to her for two whole years, and she’s not sure where to go from here.
“I really love him, and he’s been there for me since day one, but now I’m questioning everything. What should I do?” she asked.
