A woman named Chelsea King, who goes by @whoischelseaking on TikTok, is alleging that a jeweler lost her 4th generation heirloom engagement ring, along with a $10,000 tanzanite crystal her fiancé Dawson bought.

Chelse and Dawson intended to have a jeweler in Nashville add the tanzanite crystal to her heirloom ring and create something special for her to wear.

The couple dropped the ring and crystal off, paid the jeweler $1,100, and figured everything would be taken care of in-house.

The jeweler was supposed to cut the tanzanite crystal, add it to the heirloom ring, and make Chelsea a pair of earrings with the leftover tanzanite.

What Chelsea and Dawson didn’t know is that the jeweler mailed the ring and crystal down to Miami to a gem cutter to do the work.

When that third-party gem cutter completed the work, they mailed the ring back to the Nashville jeweler, but the package apparently got stolen in transit.

Although the Nashville jeweler reassured Chelsea and Dawson that their ring and crystal were insured for more than $100,000, the couple’s legal team says this wasn’t true. They weren’t insured at all when they were stolen.

Chelsea’s heirloom ring is literally irreplaceable, and she shared the history of the ring in her latest video regarding the saga.

“My aunt who wore the ring before me passed away 10 years ago, and she left the ring in her will to be given to me when I was old enough,” Chelsea explained.

“The woman that wore the ring before her was my grandma, and my grandma and I have been really close since I was…I mean, since I was born.”

“I was the first grandchild – I didn’t have a lot of friends in high school, so she would throw me birthday parties with all of her friends, and I celebrated all of my birthdays with her, and um, she passed away last week.

“So it’s been really hard for me, especially not having her engagement ring that both her and my aunt intended for me to be wearing. They were both like mother figures in my life, and I wouldn’t be who I am today without them.”

Chelsea says she’s going to press ahead with her fight with the jeweler in her grandma’s honor, and she and Dawson have filed a lawsuit against them.

Chelsea and Dawson are seeking $75,000 in damages, according to their complaint, which you can read below.

After hearing about her story, another jeweler actually stepped in and offered to make Chelsea’s engagement ring for free, which Chelsea calls one of the most amazing acts of kindness.

Chelsea showed it off, and it has a tanzanite center.

“It’s absolutely stunning, so I do feel like in the midst of the chaos, we got a happy ending. We got engaged. We got a beautiful engagement ring. We’ve gotten to celebrate with our friends.”

But that’s still overshadowed by the loss of her family’s heirloom ring. Chelsea hopes that by speaking up, she can prevent this from happening to someone else.
