He never thought he could do something so immoral and wrong. He shared what he did with some of his friends, who told him it happens and he should keep it a secret from his wife so as not to hurt her.
“I guess that would have been the easier choice, but I truly value my marriage (I know it sounds hypocritical after the betrayal, but it’s the truth), which is why I wanted to tell her, so it wouldn’t go without consequences,” he added.
“Deep down, I want to be punished for what I did because I think a crime without punishment leads to repeat behavior.”
Ever since confessing to his wife, he’s been pleading with her to forgive him. He also found a therapist to help him work through why he even cheated, and additionally, he’s no longer drinking.
His wife is crushed, and she mentioned that she isn’t interested in seeking out a divorce, but she doesn’t believe their relationship will recover and be how it was previously.
He wants to move on and go back to that happy marriage they had before he went to that hotel.
