Lexi then jumped into how she’s always been passionate about photographing dogs. She realized one of her local animal shelters was taking photos of their adoptable dogs that were blurry and not appealing.

Her heart was in the right place, and she was hoping to increase the adoption rate of these cute pups.

So she went to the shelter, and the woman she spoke to instantly turned her away and was rude to her because she’s blonde.

She was super sweet to this woman, showed her some of the work she’s done, and made it clear that she was happy to donate her time, but this woman nastily dismissed her.

This woman cut Lexi off mid-sentence and was so incredibly mean. There was no reason for Lexi to have been treated like that, and she exited the shelter feeling so sad.

“I could just tell she was looking at me like you were just some stupid girl coming in here, just annoyed by me, and it just makes me think sometimes, would people take me more seriously if I had dark hair?” she wondered.

“I love having blonde hair I’ll never change that it’s something that’s a part of me. I was physically born into this world with blonde hair. I would never change how I look, but it does attract a lot of negative attention. Even guys. They love the idea of having a girl with blonde hair. They really do.”

Lexi went on to say that there’s a negative connotation assigned to being blonde, such as you’re easy.

She’s met guys who objectify her for being blonde, and she’s met people who assume blonde jokes are reality. It’s wild to her.

Have you ever been treated differently due to being blonde?
