Her husband was against it and tried to say that “all little kids get stomach aches.” She, on the other hand, refused to budge and reached out to her mother-in-law.
She sent a text detailing the change to a babysitter and stated it was for her son’s health. Plus she even thanked her mother-in-law for helping out in order to keep the peace.
Well, her attempt to keep things amicable didn’t really work out, and her mother-in-law blew up on her.
“I’ve never heard someone so angry. My mother-in-law called me screeching about how I was stealing her grandson, poisoning Joey against her, and had no right to keep her away,” she revealed.
“She even threatened to sue for grandparents’ rights.”
She believed that her mother-in-law was entirely out of line, so she simply hung up the phone and blocked her number.
Still, this wasn’t the end of the drama because the rest of her in-laws had begun bombarding her with text messages. Her husband was annoyed that his mom was upset, too, and thought that she should’ve just kept her mouth shut since his mom was only watching Joey for a few hours each week.
“I’m at my wit’s end here. I feel like I had no other choice, given the disregard for Joey’s health. But I don’t want to cause World War III with my husband’s family,” she vented.
Now, she can’t help but wonder if she is possibly overreacting by barring her mother-in-law from watching her son anymore.
