She genuinely thought her son needed to learn the consequences of his own actions, which is why she believed she did the right thing by turning him down.
“I love him, but I also can’t put myself in a situation where I might be financially liable if things go wrong,” she reasoned.
Her friends, on the other hand, have mixed opinions. Some agree that setting a boundary was important, while others claimed she was “abandoning” her son in a critical moment.
Now, she’s not sure if refusing to co-sign the apartment lease was a good parenting move or a jerky one.
