Their mutual friends have since heard about their falling out, too, and they’ve taken Jess’ side. They believe that she should’ve helped out her friend “one last time.”

She, on the other hand, is just “emotionally drained” and thought it was important to finally set some boundaries.

“I feel guilty for not helping, but also like I can’t keep saving her from herself,” she vented.

Nonetheless, with their friendship on the rocks now, she’s been left wondering if refusing to bail Jess out of a financial bind again was really such a jerky move.
