On Friday, their actual wedding day, he promised her that he had the cash and he would give it to her that night or early on Saturday morning at the latest.
“Saturday morning comes, and I’m running last-minute errands to get everything (including our kids) ready for what I believed was OUR special day,” she explained.
“He calls to ask me to transfer $2,000 to him because he needed to pay for a few things that were on his list to purchase. I ask, why would I send this if you already have the money and all you have to do is use your card? Reader, he did not have the money.”
Every single day throughout the week leading up to their wedding day, she double-checked with her husband and asked him if he had saved up that money, and he reassured her that he had.
So, he lied to her face in a huge way, and not only is she disappointed, she’s disgusted with her husband.
She can’t help but feel foolish now that she’s legally tied to him, a liar. He had plenty of time to tell her the truth, but he didn’t.
“Instead, he continued to lie and break my trust despite knowing that the consequence would be me leaving because I’ve told him before I will not be lied to anymore,” she added.
“I’m sure anyone reading this might feel like I’m overreacting. This is still new to me, too. But I cannot envision a future anymore with someone who lies to me when we could’ve worked together and helped each other in a way I feel that partners do.”
“I’m just screaming into the void because I have no one else to discuss this with. But it still hurts, especially now that I know I have to leave.”
What advice do you have for her?
