“But this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” she reasoned.
So, she decided to take the job anyway, and when she told her boyfriend that, he became extremely upset. He accused her of not caring about their future and stated that, if she did, she would’ve made a different decision.
Since then, he’s proceeded to give her the cold shoulder as well, and she doesn’t know whether to prioritize her career or her relationship.
She’s tried confiding in her friends, too, and they’re all split. Some agreed that she should follow her dream, while others suggested that sacrifices are simply a part of relationships.
“I’m struggling with guilt, but I also don’t want to give up something so important to me,” she vented.
Now, she can’t help but wonder if picking her dream job over her boyfriend is understandable or a jerky move.
