As soon as she heard what her coworker was doing, she went online, took screenshots of the posts, and went directly to HR. This caused Karen to get fired immediately for harassment and creating a hostile work environment.
Even though she thought that was justified, Karen’s friends and family members felt differently. They’ve since begun flooding her with messages, accusing her of being a jerk for getting a “mother of three” fired over a dog. Plus, they claim that she should’ve just worked from home if she was “so sick.”
She honestly feels terrible about Karen losing her job, too, especially because her coworker’s kids weren’t at fault, and she didn’t want them to be negatively impacted.
“But Karen literally put my life at risk with the perfume stunts, and doxxing me online was scary,” she vented.
Nonetheless, she’s now been left wondering if getting her coworker fired was too far or not.
Did her coworker deserve to face the consequences of her actions? Do you think she did the right thing by going to HR?
