However, just a few days after their awesome first date, he received a really sad text from Emily. It came out that his friends had apparently set up their blind date as a prank and told her about it afterward.
“That they set me up with her because they thought she wasn’t ‘my type’ and that they picked her specifically because she’s chubby and not what they’d call ‘conventionally attractive,’ thinking it would be funny to see how I’d react,” he revealed.
This obviously devastated Emily, and she sent him an apology, saying she was sorry if she wasn’t the person he expected her to be.
She even claimed that she’d understand if he didn’t want to speak to her anymore.
“She was wrong. I think she’s beautiful, body and spirit. To be honest, she’s my new type,” he admitted.
As for his friends, he was furious with them and quickly apologized to Emily. He accused his friends of being idiots and reassured her that he genuinely loved their first date.
Plus, he made it clear that he wasn’t talking to her out of pity and proceeded to ask her out on a second date, to which she said yes.
But for some reason, his friends are actually now angry at him for going out with Emily again!
They feel like he “ruined the joke” and that he’s “weird” for asking her out again.
“They’re acting like the whole thing was just harmless fun and can’t believe I’m going on a second date with someone who, to them, was supposed to be the punchline,” he vented.
“They even joked that I’m only doing it because I feel bad, but that’s not it at all.”
