“Plus, the idea that everyone in the office would ‘help’ take care of it is unrealistic. Maintaining a tank properly requires more knowledge than just throwing some food in once a day.”

So, he attempted to explain his concerns, but all of his coworkers accused him of being “overly protective” and taking the whole thing too seriously. This upset him because while they felt it would just be a fun project, his fish meant much more to him than that.

Regardless, all of his colleagues are divided. Some people have taken his side and realized it’s his own fish tank; meanwhile, others claimed he was being selfish and not a good team player.

This has now left him wondering whether refusing to allow his coworkers to turn his fish tank into an office-wide project is justified or truly does make him a jerk.

Can you understand why he doesn’t want anyone else messing with his fish tank? What should he do?
