“She told us repeatedly she felt the ex deserved better, and she should be regarded as [a] mom in some way after all those years,” he added.
“She should be seen as someone worth keeping around to all of us. I didn’t know before my wedding day that the ex was her plus one. It didn’t bother me.”
“But I was clear that she wasn’t going to be in the wedding photos. My aunt hated it, and she expected to be able to sneak her in, but no, that was taken care of. My aunt also wanted me to dance with the ex, but I didn’t.”
His aunt flipped out on him when his wedding was done, and every day since, his aunt keeps harassing him about how terribly he treated his dad’s ex-wife at the wedding.
His aunt feels that he had his biological mom for five years but his dad’s ex-wife for fourteen, so he should consider this woman a mom since she raised him.
His aunt also laced into him for not wanting his dad’s ex-wife to be a part of his wedding, but he reminded his aunt he didn’t invite this woman for a reason.
He’s left wondering if he was wrong not to want to include his dad’s ex-wife on his wedding day.
