His neighbor claimed that he wasn’t allowed to swim after 5:00 p.m. because her kids had a “strict bedtime.” She also stated he couldn’t play any “loud music” while her family was outside.
Still, the worst part was how Karen stipulated that she needed “mandatory” and “exclusive” access to his pool on the weekend for her and her kids, and he wasn’t allowed to be there!
He initially thought his neighbor was kidding around. However, he realized she was completely serious, and he literally laughed in her face. He told Karen that he definitely wasn’t going to follow her rules for his own pool.
Well, his neighbor was furious and accused him of being selfish. She insisted that he was being “unfair” to her kids and “ruining the neighborhood spirit.”
Karen proceeded to badmouth him to other neighbors, too, painting him as the bad guy for not sharing his pool.
“Some of the neighbors have even said I should ‘just let it go’ to avoid drama. But I feel like this is insane. It’s my pool, and she’s acting like she owns it!” he vented.
Nonetheless, in the wake of this crazy situation, he’s not sure if refusing to let Karen and her children use his pool anymore is really so unreasonable.
