“And my sister blurted out that she was pregnant and had just found out herself,” she revealed.
Obviously, the whole vibe of the dinner party shifted, and she felt entirely overshadowed. Suddenly, all of her guests were focused on her sister – only asking about the pregnancy and ignoring her.
“I felt crushed,” she said.
Following the dinner, she also decided to confront her sister and admit just how hurtful it was to have that moment stolen from her.
Well, her sister got all defensive and even tried to accuse her of being selfish. Her sister thought it was unfair that she was “expected to wait” to talk about the pregnancy.
This has left her feeling conflicted, as she realizes that her sister having a baby is a huge deal.
“But I can’t help but feel like she should have let me have my moment, too,” she vented.
That’s why she wants her sister to apologize for stealing the spotlight, and she doesn’t think that’s so unreasonable.
