His son has always looked up to him as a hero, and he even did a school project on him, which fills him with pride to think about.
He believes that any respect his son had for his mom and his stepdad has vanished in light of him learning the truth.
His son is furious, and last week, his son said he no longer wishes to live with his mom. Instead, he wants to be with him full-time.
He promised his son that he would not make him do anything he didn’t want to do, and he then contacted his ex to fill her in.
His ex feels like he’s been somehow planning to steal their son away from her, even though that’s not the case.
“She told family and friends, and now I’m getting nasty calls from them,” he added. “I keep telling her to give him space and let him process his feelings and that I will talk to him.”
“Now my son doesn’t want to live with his mom. I suggested therapy, but he doesn’t want to go because he associates it with the time when he saw his father lose his arm.”
He’s left wondering if it was wrong of him not to lie to his son about the reason he and his ex got divorced.
