A couple of police officers, an ambulance, and the fire department had already responded to the crash. One of Shane’s shoes was discovered in the mud nearby. Yet, no other evidence of his whereabouts was uncovered.

In the beginning, authorities initially thought Shane might’ve fled the scene, but his bank account showed no activity after he went missing.

According to Brett, his brother sounded alert and coherent during their phone call. Brett assumed Shane was waiting for him to arrive and get a ride home.

The exact circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain unknown, and his loved ones reportedly had a few theories. One was that Shane might’ve suffered a concussion and memory loss, leading him to potentially forget who he was.

They believed it would be extremely out of character for him to leave without warning, stating he wouldn’t leave behind his loved ones or his job.

Still, no theories have been confirmed, as there is a lack of any evidence in his case. On June 10, 2020, his loved ones posted on a Facebook page entitled Help Find Shane Fell, expressing how they are still holding onto hope despite the lack of progress in the investigation.

“Today makes 9 years since we [have] last seen or heard from Shane. We continue to look for him and pray that he returns back home safely to us. We have absolutely NO evidence or leads,” the post reads.

“It truly touches our hearts that people have not forgotten about him and continue to take an extra glance at people to see if it’s him. It is especially amazing that most of you are total strangers to Shane and have never met him. He is truly loved and missed dearly. We will never give up hope! We love you, Shane Fell.”

Shane was between six feet tall and six foot two, weighed between 190 and 210 pounds, and had brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a long-sleeved white dress shirt with brown vertical stripes, and black dress shoes.

Shane would be 50-years-old today.

If you have any information regarding his disappearance, you are urged to contact the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office at (504) 364-5300.
