She’s Sick Of Funding Her Little Brother’s Lavish Lifestyle Since He Was Spoiled By Their Parents For Years And Still Cannot Support Himself

So, her parents actually turned to her for help with his expenses, and she lent a hand. She paid off her brother’s credit card debt and assisted him with his car payments. On top of that, she even chipped in some money for his rent when he tried to move out of their parent’s home for a brief time period.

More recently, though, she can’t help but feel like her brother is just using her as a piggy bank.

That’s because, out of the blue, he approached her and asked for a huge chunk of change to invest in his new “business idea.” The worst part? She doesn’t think her brother has a real business idea at all. Rather, it seems like another hobby that he just wants to try without having a concrete plan in place.

This pushed her to turn her brother down, and afterward, he absolutely freaked out on her. She was accused of not caring about her family. Perhaps unsurprisingly, her parents took his side, too.

They believe that she’s doing well enough in her own career to help her brother and that, as his sister, it’s her “duty” to support him.

She made it clear that she does love her family and wants to be there for them. Nonetheless, their behavior is making her feel very used.

“My brother refuses to grow up, and my parents just keep enabling him. I’m tired of being the one who always has to bail him out, especially when he’s not even trying to be independent,” she vented.

She really doesn’t think it’s fair that she is expected to foot the bill for her brother’s unsustainable lifestyle habits just because she has been responsible with her own money.

However, with her whole family against her on this, she’s unsure if refusing to help him out financially yet again actually does make her the jerk in this situation.

Do you agree that she’s being treated like an ATM? Is it time for her brother to figure things out for himself?
