“I had been there for Tom through thick and thin, always supporting his needs and goals. To see him prioritize Lucy, especially at my expense, was gut-wrenching,” she explained.
He tried to justify what he did by pointing out how the bracelet was only a one-time purchase. He even claimed that he’d “make it up” to her.
Even so, this didn’t make her feel any better because, in her eyes, the situation was more about principle as opposed to money.
“How could I trust someone who so easily disregarded our shared commitments for the sake of someone else?” she asked.
They wound up having a heated fight, and their relationship has been tense ever since. Now, she can’t help but wonder if she should just end things with Tom.
“I know that breaking up with Tom would be drastic, but I can’t ignore the fundamental issues that have been exposed,” she vented.
“The respect and trust that are crucial to any relationship seem to be crumbling, all because of Lucy’s unexpected role in our lives.”
Still, she’s really not sure if calling it quits on their relationship would be the right thing to do.
