“The kicker here is, I love her more than life itself,” he explained. “When she broke down crying, I comforted HER.”
“She swore she wasn’t really going to go (she is the biggest flaker on things like this, so not a stretch), and she was just doing it for attention.”
“I was initially ANGRY and not sad – we talked and hung out that entire day, and she said this has made her realize how much I did love her and how much she loved me. The next 2 weeks were the best 2 weeks of my life – she was loving, caring, supportive – I honestly was so happy I forgot about it most of the time.”
However, he learned that his wife hasn’t been honest about how long she’s been talking to this other man – they have been carrying on for nearly an entire year, so he finds it weird she promises she only met up with him one time.
His wife lied to him and said she only spoke to this man for a handful of weeks. Then, when he uncovered the truth, she said she just forgot about how long she had been speaking to him since it was meaningless.
He pulled his wife’s cellphone records and pieced together a ton of text messages and phone calls from numbers he didn’t recognize. He was able to find out who two of those numbers were, but not the rest.
His wife is saying those messages and calls are spam, but he can see that she talked to one number for 20 minutes at 9 p.m. one night.
Adding to the weirdness, his wife said she was offered another job as a nanny months ago, but they couldn’t make it work, and he’s worried this was an attempt to meet up with the guy she’s been talking to or another man entirely.
This all went down a few months ago, and since then, he’s felt pretty needy, which is unusual for him. His wife has also blocked his ability to check her phone records.
“It’s been 3 months since the initial revelation, and it honestly feels like before – she is pushing me away and doesn’t want to spend any time with me, which is the only thing I have asked for – just for us to spend solo time together,” he added.
“I am running out of options here – I love this woman more than anything, and I love the life we have built with our kids as well. But it seems like she doesn’t care that this whole situation has completely broken me more than I ever thought possible – she pretends it never happened, TBH.”
