His Sister Keeps Running To Him For Financial Help, And He’s Starting To Feel Like His Generosity Is Being Taken For Granted

“I’m not a millionaire, and I’m starting to feel like my generosity is being taken for granted,” he said.

He tried telling his sister that as well and attempted to set a boundary – making it clear that he could only aid them this one time.

Well, this made his sister upset, and she accused him of being selfish. She also claimed that family members needed to be there for each other, no matter what.

“I get where she’s coming from, but I’m struggling to balance helping out with not enabling her to rely on me for everything,” he vented.

“I don’t want to be the bad guy, but I also don’t want to be broke from helping her out all the time.”

So, despite feeling justified here, he can’t help but wonder if not helping his sister out with money anymore really would be the wrong thing to do.

Is it his job to supplement his sister’s finances, or does she need to figure out how to better manage her own money? What advice would you give him?
