“My sister claimed my hair would clash with the rest of the bridal party, who are all brunettes or blondes, and would ‘ruin’ her wedding aesthetic,” she revealed.
She wasn’t on board with that idea, though, since she views her hair as a facet of her identity – and changing it for only one day didn’t sit right with her.
But when she tried to politely tell her sister that, she was absolutely berated.
Apparently, her sister threw a huge fit, accusing her of being selfish and blaming her for making the ceremony all about her. Plus, her sister tried to say that if she didn’t dye her hair, then she shouldn’t go to the wedding at all.
Her parents have taken her sister’s side, too, and want her to just “suck it up” in order to avoid any more drama.
“I feel like I’m being unfairly singled out, and the request is ridiculous, but now I’m second-guessing my stance,” she vented.
This has left her wondering if not dyeing her hair and skipping her sister’s nuptials would really be so unreasonable.
Should brides ever expect their bridesmaids to make drastic changes like that? What would you do in this situation?
