She immediately shot down that idea and told her boyfriend no. After all, she was hoping to have a special vacation with just him.
Well, rather than understanding where she was coming from, Jake became really upset and actually called her out for being selfish! Apparently, he thought his mom wouldn’t be a third wheel.
In response, she pointed out how Jake’s mom already kept dropping by unannounced or constantly calling them, which is precisely why she wanted some quality alone time.
Nonetheless, Jake didn’t get it and has been acting distant ever since. His mom wound up texting her, too, apologizing for causing any “tension” while simultaneously urging her to “reconsider.”
“I honestly feel bad because she’s really nice, but I also feel like it’s our anniversary trip!” she vented.
This has left her wondering whether not wanting her boyfriend’s mom to tag along on their weekend getaway is really so crazy or not.
