She has since changed her last name back to her own name in lieu of her ex’s, and she’s not changing it again. Ever.
Her boyfriend keeps insisting that he doesn’t know a single woman who kept her maiden name post-marriage, and he cites that her desire to do this is “wrong” and “weird.”
Neither of them are willing to compromise, so she’s left wondering what on earth they should do; as her boyfriend says, if she won’t take his last name, there’s no reason to get married.
