He understands where she’s coming from, too, yet the fact of the matter is that he never actually enjoys their family vacations.
“I’ve been on several of these trips, and they always end up being stressful for me,” he admitted.
“I just want to have a vacation where I can relax, not feel like I’m walking on eggshells around her parents.”
Unfortunately, Sarah believes that’s selfish of him. She even accused him of not making an effort with her parents.
He clarified that he never intended to hurt his wife’s feelings or spark any drama.
“But I also don’t want to spend another week in a situation that makes me miserable,” he vented.
Now that this has caused a lot of tension in his relationship, though, he’s unsure if not joining his wife on the family trip really does make him a jerk.
