By Friday, they still hadn’t exchanged a single word with each other. Furthermore, they lived together in the same house!
On Friday morning, he finally spoke up as she was heading to work. He wanted some space and announced that he was going away for the weekend.
While he was gone, Amy and her sister tracked his location to see what he was up to. Then, he called her sister, asking to meet up with her, so she did.
“My ex-boyfriend claims that the meeting was to basically save our relationship. He wanted to talk to somebody close to me so that he could get advice on how to manage me because I was ‘so psychotic,'” Amy recalled.
Finally, he came home and accused Amy of having ‘incriminating messages’ on her phone with a male colleague from work. Amy only ever had one text interaction with her colleague a couple of weeks ago.
“After I had this information, I started thinking more about it, and I realized that this was the weekend that Sarah was meant to be in town, and I started wondering, did his Sydney trip have less to do with my ‘apparent incriminating messages’ and more to do with a visit to an ex-girlfriend?” said Amy.
For the first time, Amy went through his phone and discovered that he had been messaging Sarah throughout their entire relationship.
So she confronted him with the evidence, and all he had to say was that their relationship was over anyway.
This enraged Amy so much that she threw his iPad off the balcony. He then locked her outside and lit her teddy bear on fire. Amy ended up leaving him several months later.
@amzdicko When I retell this story it feels like I am recounting something that didn’t happen to me. Strangely I feel no emotion. I feel like I have created a mental block that allows me cope with the abuse I suffered throughout this relationship.
