Scientists Hiking In The Mountains Of Central Asia Stumbled Upon A Peculiar New Species Of Wolf Spider

Kudratbekov’s wolf spider is just one of the latest species of spiders that have been discovered in recent years.

Last year, scientists identified a new jumping spider on the University of Exeter’s Penryn campus in England. It was named Anasaitis milesae and likely arrived in the United Kingdom on imported plants.

Additionally, two new species of pirate spiders were found off the coast of West Africa on a remote tropical island in the Atlantic Ocean called St. Helena. They are named after pirates for their habit of taking over the webs of other spiders.

The findings are detailed in the journal Zoosystematics and Evolution.
