His Wife Suggested They Separate If He’s No Longer Going To Financially Support Her, But She’s Been Taking Advantage Of Him For Years

“I grew up outside the U.S., so I went back to my family for the funeral. While I was with my family, my wife asked me if I’d consider an open relationship.”

He told his wife he felt the timing of her proposal was inappropriate, so she dropped the subject when he returned home.

Then, last week, she hit him with another interesting request.

“My wife told me she was running out of money, though this was the first time she’d mentioned any money issues,” he explained.

“We’ve never had a joint bank account, but she is insisting that we open one, and I put my salary into it.”

He told his wife that he hadn’t felt very emotionally supported in their relationship, and he felt like her request was blindsiding him.

His wife then told him they should consider separating if he didn’t “step up” and financially support her.

Should he consider leaving his wife or opening a joint bank account for her?
