His wife was totally on board, too, and thought that was a great idea. He also asked her to join him, but she claimed she was too busy with work.
“So, I stayed over by myself and did the 5K race in a respectable 33 minutes, with no pain. I was so proud of myself!” he said.
Afterward, he traveled back home, and while he was unpacking his luggage, he decided to take out the medal he won in the race and put it on.
At that point, his wife saw the medal. That’s why he took it off, showed it to her for a couple of seconds, and then put the medal back on around his neck.
Well, to his surprise, she actually became really upset and thought that he was just giving the medal to her when he took it off.
“I told her that I earned it, and I wasn’t about to give the symbol of my accomplishment to her,” he revealed.
“She didn’t compliment me at all. Frankly, I found the idea of giving it to her offensive.”
Unfortunately, his wife didn’t agree with him on this, and she’s been sleeping separately and giving him the cold shoulder ever since.
She claimed that giving her the medal would have been a symbol of how much he loved her.
“But I find it very selfish to even suggest it,” he vented.
Still, with their relationship on the rocks over this, he’s now wondering who’s really in the wrong here.
