“I decided it was time to show him the truth and played the recordings for him,” she said.
“He looked stunned and didn’t say anything for a few minutes. Then he said he couldn’t believe his mom would say those things. But then, instead of being angry at Jane, he turned on me.”
Her husband accused her of violating his mom’s privacy and told her she went “too far” by recording her. Then, her husband felt betrayed that she hadn’t talked to him about this sooner.
They began arguing back and forth and her husband got so mad sticking up for his mom that he packed a bag and left to sleep at his parents’ house.
Now, she’s wondering if she did a bad thing by recording Jane, but at the same time, she couldn’t figure out another way to get her husband to believe her.
Should she feel bad for recording her mother-in-law?
