If she does have this kind of discussion with her husband, he calls her materialistic and shuts her down by saying holidays and her birthday are the same as every single day of the year.
Her husband doesn’t care that she’s hurt by his unwillingness to help her celebrate days that are super important to her.
“I understand love languages can be different, but after 10 years, I’m honestly just fed up,” she said.
“I spend every birthday feeling underappreciated and sad. I make everyone else’s birthdays and holidays special for them. Is there a better way to go about this? Am I being over dramatic?”
