Despite his girlfriend’s friendly advances, Erin continued to make passive-aggressive remarks, telling her she “wishes” she could pull off the dress she was wearing but that it probably only worked for people with small chests.
He had enough of Erin’s behavior and didn’t want to risk her making his girlfriend feel worse, so he decided to sarcastically respond, “I think it’d be difficult to pull off for you in the waist area. If you want to know where we got this dress, I’d be happy to send you the link in a bigger size.”
Erin immediately broke down and walked away. While he was relieved to be rid of her, later that night, he found out from other guests that she left crying and said it was because he called her fat and “ruined” her night.
“My girlfriend told me Erin was projecting her insecurities onto us, and she wasn’t even mad; she was just sad for her,” he explained.
“I admit it was not the most mature move I’ve done.”
Was he too harsh with Erin, or did she deserve to be told off?
