Everything You Need To Know About Raising Baby Goats, Playful And Adorable Creatures That Are Aptly Known As Kids

To teach your baby goat how to drink from a bottle, quickly squirt milk into its mouth to help it make the association between the bottle and the milk.

For the first month, baby goats should be fed at least four times a day. After that, you can feed them three times a day.

If you’re letting the mother nurse her baby, it’ll be a lot less work for you. The baby goat will drink from its mother for six to eight weeks.

Then, you can provide hay and other foods. You’ll want to spend a lot of time with the kid so it doesn’t become skittish around humans.

To transition baby goats from milk to solid foods, slowly introduce bits of grain at one week old. At one month, offer a little grain, hay, fresh water, and pasture time. As soon as you’re able, provide loose goat minerals to boost muscle growth and milk lactation.

Baby goats require warm, dry shelter free from drafts. Cover dirt with hay and wood shavings for their bedding. In the pasture, the ground should not contain too much manure.

Prevent azaleas and rhododendrons from growing because these plants are poisonous to goats. Also, do not feed goats moldy grain, or else they will get sick.
