Buy a cute bathing suit that fits you properly
Before working on our mentality regarding swimsuits, something that will help you tremendously is buying and wearing a swimsuit that you feel good in.
Swimsuits that don’t fit you well can easily make you feel uncomfortable, so take some proper measurements and get help selecting one that’s cute and fits your body comfortably.
Stop looking to influencers for inspiration
Comparison truly is the thief of joy, and if you constantly compare yourself to online influencers in their itsy bitsy bikinis, you’ll likely stay insecure. Remember that influencers and models often use editing and special posing techniques to make themselves look the way they do, and you should be more focused on embracing your natural body.
Stop overthinking
I think one of the reasons I was most insecure about wearing a bathing suit as a teen was because I thought every single person at the pool or beach would analyze my appearance and judge me.
However, before stepping out in your suit, remember that not all eyes are on you. The majority of people at the beach and pool are simply trying to mind their own business and have fun, not judge you in your suit. So don’t worry about it!
Practice self-love
The more we keep saying bad things about ourselves and how we look in a bathing suit, the easier we’ll start believing them. This summer, do your best to stop saying negative things about yourself and your body. Instead, practice positive affirmations and tell yourself that you are beautiful, that your body is beautiful.
I know that ‘swimsuit season’ can be intimidating, but instead of focusing so much on how your body looks, focus more on the fun of the season. Channel your inner child, focus more on play and adventure, and take good care of yourself.
