She’s Supposed To Be Her Best Friend’s Maid Of Honor, But She Doesn’t Even Want To Attend The Wedding Anymore Because Her Fiancé Is Rude

“I feel like I can’t be myself around him, and it’s causing me a lot of stress and anxiety,” she explained.

“Now, with the wedding approaching, I’m dreading the thought of attending. I don’t want to be there and pretend everything is fine when it’s not.”

Recently, she voiced her feelings to Emily again, too, and admitted that she was considering skipping the wedding altogether because of how uncomfortable John makes her feel.

Emily didn’t understand her perspective, though, and was really hurt. Emily believes that, as her best friend, she should be there to support her on the big day. Plus, Emily claimed it would look bad if she didn’t show up, given she’s the maid of honor and is worried about what the other guests might think.

Now, she’s been left in a pretty impossible situation because she genuinely loves her best friend and wants to be there for Emily’s wedding.

“But I also need to take care of my own mental health,” she vented.

And while some of their mutual friends understand where she’s coming from, others believe she’s acting selfish, and she can just get over her feelings for one day.

So now, she really doesn’t know if no longer attending her best friend’s wedding anymore is justified or would make her a jerk.

Why do you think her best friend would want to marry a guy who’s so rude to her? Would you want to attend a wedding if the groom made you uncomfortable? What should she do?
