While Lori’s dress sparked a bit of unexpected controversy, the more negative comments were drowned out by supportive ones.
“A mom showing up as her best version of herself [in] such an amazing gown,” commented a TikTok user.
“All moms should be their most beautiful on their daughter’s wedding day.”
Since the video of her mom’s dress went viral, Amanda has spoken to several news publications to explain how much she loved her mom’s dress and how she didn’t feel outshined at all.
In fact, Amanda said she felt the dress was perfect and that she wanted her mom to feel just as special and as beautiful as her on her wedding day. Adorably, she wanted all of her family members to shine.
So, if you’re on social media and you see videos of a family having an amazing time at a wedding and see the mother-of-the-bride wearing something that’s not super traditional, maybe keep any negative thoughts to yourself.
And moms – keep doing you and looking as fabulous as you want.
