She Wants To Call CPS On Her Mom For Making Her Sister Live In A Hoarder House

Her mom complains about being overwhelmed with all of the stuff in her house, yet makes excuses for why she can’t do something about it.

She has tried to rent a truck and offered to fill it up with things to donate to those in need, but her mom refused to allow her to.

She then said she could post items for sale online since her mom thinks every treasure in her home is worth some kind of money, but her mom wouldn’t let her do that either.

She did manage to convince her mom to let her have a garage sale in the middle of the summer heat, but nobody bought a thing. She made probably $20 after an entire day of working like crazy.

Her mom says the items are too sentimental, and she needs to go through every single thing before allowing anything to leave her home.

“I worry about the effects this will have on my sister,” she said. “It has affected me, and I do not even live with her anymore.”

“When I say she is a hoarder, I do not mean trash and bugs and nasty stuff like that. It is just STUFF. Sometimes, I think about her passing away in the future and how long it will take for my siblings and me to go through everything in this house.”

“I have considered calling CPS because of it. However, she used to work for them and told me that they will not do ANYTHING unless the child is in danger. Which she is not. She is taken care of, but this place is so anxiety-inducing. I hate coming over here. I feel like I am stuck. There is nothing I can do, but I desperately want to do something for the sake of both of them.”

She’s left wondering if it’s wrong of her to want to try to take her little sister away from her mom over the hoarding.
