This broke her heart, too, and she finally decided to contact animal control. She explained how her neighbors were treating Max and Ruby, and animal control promised to send someone over to check on them.
Then, just a few days later, it seemed as though Max and Ruby were receiving much better care. She noticed that they had new, insulated dog houses and bigger water bowls. Plus, it seemed like her neighbors were spending more time with the pups.
“However, my neighbor confronted me and accused me of overstepping and making things difficult for them,” she recalled.
Since then, other people in their neighborhood have found out about the situation, too, and they’re all divided. Some of her neighbors believe she did the right thing; meanwhile, others think she should have just minded her own business.
“I just couldn’t stand seeing those dogs suffer,” she vented.
Still, she can’t help but wonder if reporting her neighbor for neglecting their dogs was a jerky move.
