She Left Her Parent’s Home In 2015 And Said She’d Be Back, But Her Car Was Found Abandoned In A Ditch Two Days Later

Authorities searched the area with the help of canines, but no evidence of her whereabouts was uncovered.

However, it was discovered that, on September 8, 2015, surveillance camera footage from two different businesses located in Meridian, Mississippi, seemed to have captured a woman who looked like Rebecca walking with a 57-year-old man named John.

Later that month, on September 24, 2015, John was ultimately arrested – but for misdemeanor charges that weren’t related to Rebecca’s disappearance.

Still, authorities followed up on the lead and executed a search warrant at John’s home – located off of Old Wire Road in Meridian – on September 26, 2015. But, no evidence tied to Rebecca’s case was found on the property.

So, John was never charged in Rebecca’s case or even named a suspect. Rebecca’s case has also seen no new leads, the exact circumstances surrounding her disappearance remain unclear, and her case remains unsolved.

Five years after Rebecca vanished, her mother, Janet, issued a plea to the community for help in finding her daughter.

“I can’t believe it’s five years now, and we have no word of where Rebecca is. This has been a nightmare that I wouldn’t want to wish on any other mother. It’s like a nightmare that you live over and over,” Janet said.

“I miss my daughter so much. I know there is someone out there who knows what happened to Rebecca and where she is. I ask them to please contact us, Lauderdale County Sheriff’s office or Crimestoppers. Let us bring Rebecca home.”

Rebecca’s parents are also offering a $20,000 reward for any information that leads to her discovery.

At the time she vanished, Rebecca was five foot six, weighed 145 pounds, and had blonde hair and green eyes.

If you have any information regarding her case, you are urged to contact the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department at (601) 486-4952.
