His wife was falsely accusing their friend of having an affair with him, and their friend has never been inappropriate with him.
He snatched his wife’s phone out of her hands to prevent her from doing something crazy, and he didn’t want his wife to blow up their friendship over an untrue allegation.
“She took this as I’m trying to keep her from “finding the truth” vs. I just don’t want to embarrassingly bring someone into this argument,” he said.
“She ended up meeting up with her friend the next day and asking her to her face if we were having an affair; of course, this offended her friend, but she was understanding and was truthful in saying “absolutely not.”
His wife still refused to listen to the truth, and in the week that followed his wife confronting their friend, his wife claimed to uncover clues of the affair that never happened.
Every clue his wife insisted she found was such a stretch he couldn’t believe it. His wife kept insisting the affair happened and then grilled their friend over it.
Now, their friend wants nothing to do with the two of them since his wife has been harassing her nonstop.
He’s been trying to get his wife to see reality while apologizing to their poor friend, but his wife won’t issue an apology to this woman.
This all blew up three weeks ago, and he feels completely humiliated by his wife’s actions. Additionally, he’s furious with his wife, as her behavior caused him to lose out on the job opportunity their friend initially brought to him.
What’s weighing on him is that their friend is entitled to an apology since she didn’t do anything to deserve this drama.
“I know it’s not my place to make amends for my wife, but this is someone that I am friends with, and it pains me that something false and stupid is going to end our friendship,” he continued.
