His Wife Confessed She Had A One-Night Stand Last Weekend

“She had clearly been crying, was not wearing any makeup (unusual for her), and looked like a shell of a person,” he explained.

“I knew right away something was wrong, but she wouldn’t let me hug her and would barely speak. I sat her down on the couch and made her some tea. I gently encouraged her to tell me what was wrong, and she burst into uncontrollable tears for at least 10 minutes while I was trying to comfort her.”

“She then proceeded to tell me, stopping every few words, that she had slept with someone last night after the bar. At that moment, something in my brain broke. I can’t describe it any other way.”

Kate did have a couple of drinks that night, but she was fully aware that she was cheating on him with this random man. It was absolutely consensual from Kate’s account.

He instantly left the house, hopped into his car, and drove to a local park, where he spent an hour just walking around.

Kate relentlessly called him, but he shut his phone off. Upon arriving back at their house, he went to the garage, got two suitcases, and tossed some of Kate’s clothing in there before dropping them by the front door.

He found Kate on the living room floor in the fetal position, sobbing her eyes out. He phoned up Kate’s best friend, said Kate needed a ride as well as somewhere to stay, and mentioned Kate would fill her in on what was going down.

“I told Kate I was leaving for an hour and that her friend was coming to pick her up. She grabbed onto my legs, trying to stop me from leaving,” he added.

Kate left with the suitcases and kept trying to get him on the phone to speak to her. Feeling a bit more clear on Monday, he picked up one of Kate’s dozens of phone calls and asked her to email him a detailed account of her one-night stand.

He promised Kate that if she left any details out of the email, he would never reconcile with her. Monday night, Kate sent the email, but he can’t bring himself to read it.

“Since then, everyone has been trying to contact me, but I have just been working, exercising, and sleeping,” he continued.
