He and his fiancée share a dog, which they purchased together, and he would like to take the dog along with him.
His mind is racing so much that he can’t quite work out the best plan for him to move forward with. He also doesn’t think it’s best to even try to talk to his fiancée when she does return. Instead, he wants to vanish from her life without giving any explanation.

“Over 3 years…we were planning our wedding the night before she left, and she was giddily telling me about how excited she was for this trip.”
