An Art Thief Is On The Run After Stealing A Signed Andy Warhol Screen-Print Worth Over $50,000 From A California Community College

It was the 187th work in an overall collection of 250 and was never put on display by the school.

“I don’t know how many people knew that there was a Mao print in the vault,” Gutierrez said. “I think there were plans to either sell it or make it part of a bigger exhibition, but we only have the one Warhol, so we couldn’t actually do a Warhol exhibition with just one.”

Officials believe there is a chance the print was accidentally moved from its spot in the vault. They hope that the culprit will return the piece.

“If someone has it and returns it, we won’t ask a whole lot of questions,” Doug Bennett, the executive director for college advancement at the school, said. “If it shows up on the doorstep of the police station, that’s fine.”
