After Her Sister’s Accident, Her Family Never Lets Her Share Good News About Herself

Her family acts like everything good that happens to her wrongs her sister in some way. Then, a couple of days ago, she purchased her first brand-new car after saving up for multiple years.

She was elated to achieve this milestone, and she knew her family would be excited for her, too. As soon as she told her family, they went so quiet you could hear crickets.

“My mom whispered to me, “This isn’t the time; think about your sister.” My sister looked so sad, and I instantly felt like the worst person in the world,” she said.

“I just couldn’t handle it anymore, and I said, “Can’t I share anything good in my life? I thought you’d all be happy for me.” No one knew what to say, and I left the house. I’ve never done that before.”

“Now I’m filled with regret and confusion. I love my sister, and I never want to hurt her, but it feels like I’m not allowed to have anything good happen to me. It’s getting to the point where I feel like I’m walking on eggshells all the time.”

She knows her sister’s life isn’t the same as it was before the accident, and she really tries her heart out to support her.

However, she wants to be able to share details of her life and her own milestones. It makes her feel guilty to feel like this in the first place like she’s somehow inconsiderate or self-centered.

She isn’t trying to make her sister feel bad; she just wants to be able to be joyful about her own life while among her loved ones.

What advice do you have for her?
