While she says what he went to jail for is terrible, she was still willing to go out on a date with him despite his less-than-stellar history.
He mentioned he went to jail 10 years ago and that back then, he had a problem with alcohol. He hasn’t had a drink in 8 years, so it truly didn’t bother her, as it seemed he’s turned his life around.
“He asked me what would be a dealbreaker, and I said, you know, violent stuff, especially toward women,” she explained.
“I was never intending to judge him for his past, I was just thinking of my safety. He was appalled and asked if he seemed like someone that would do those things. I said no, he honestly doesn’t, but I really don’t know him at all, and you really can’t always tell.”
He got angry with her for being honest about that, and he thought it was bad-mannered of her to ask him what he went to jail over in the first place.
“His whole attitude changed, and he called the date off and told me I was rude to ask and to make assumptions about him,” she said. “No big loss, I guess, but do you think it’s a fair question or not?”
