She Disappeared Along With Her Dog In 2012, And Cleaning Supplies, Rubber Gloves, And Blood-Stained Clothing Were Later Found In Her Apartment

When investigators spoke to witnesses, they claimed an unidentified white male with blonde hair had gone in and out of Kathleen’s apartment on or around September 4, 2012. He was also reportedly seen walking toward the dumpster outside holding something rolled up, which could have been bedding.

While investigators released a sketch of the man on September 8, 2012, though, his identity is still unknown.

According to Kathleen’s loved ones, she was a private person who spoke with her family members once or twice every week. So, they believe she wouldn’t have given someone else a key to her apartment or left her car unlocked.

Nonetheless, her cell phone, bank account, and credit card records have shown no activity since she vanished, and there have been no other leads in her case. No one has seen or heard from Kathleen in over a decade, and her case remains unsolved.

Since the years following her disappearance, there has been little media coverage of Kathleen’s case. But, back in 2015, both her sister, Diane Roman, and Detective William Gordon with the Newport News Police issued renewed pleas to the public for information.

“Please come forward. We need to know what’s going on, where she is, any information at all,” Diane said.

“There’s always hope. We have not found a deceased person, so there is always hope. We’re going to search and continue to try until we either locate her or find her remains,” Detective Gordon stated.

At the time of her disappearance, Kathleen was four foot eleven, weighed between 100 and 120 pounds, and had brown hair and hazel eyes. She also tended to wear small stud earrings and a homemade gemstone necklace.

If you have any information regarding her case, you are urged to contact the Newport News Police Department at (757) 928-4100.
