This Woman Says Her Parents Are Free Spirits
This twenty-seven-year-old woman’s parents were apparently “free spirits” who never wanted to actually settle down and raise a child.
Her Grandparents Ended Up Raising Her
So, she was ultimately raised by her maternal grandparents and only saw her parents every few months when they would visit.
Her Parents Then Stopped Coming To Visit Her
Eventually, though, her parents stopped visiting altogether. But honestly, she did not really miss them.
Her Grandparents Had To Act Like Her Mom And Dad
“My grandmother and grandfather were my parents,” she said.
Now, She’s Getting Married
Now that she is getting married, though, some family drama involving her parents has surfaced yet again. And this time, it involves a throuple.
She Invited Her Parents, But They’re Not Included In The Wedding
Apparently, when she sent out invitations to all of her guests, she also decided to invite her parents. They are not involved as part of the wedding or anything, and she honestly was not even going to invite them at all at first.
Initially, She Didn’t Want To Invite Her Parents At All
However, her grandfather encouraged her to allow her mother to be a part of the big day, so she eventually caved and obliged.
Her Dad Called To Ask If He Can Have A Plus-One
Anyway, about a week ago, her dad ended up calling her about the wedding and asked if he could also have a plus-one.
She Thought It Was Because She Has A Secret Sibling
And in her head, being that she had not seen her dad in years, she figured that perhaps her parents had had another kid and just did not mention it. Soon after, though, she found out that is far from the case.
But No, Her Dad Wants To Invite Another Man
“Nope. Apparently, he and my mother have a man in his thirties who is a part of their relationship,” she revealed. Talk about a shocker!
Her Parents Are In A Throuple
Now, she and her fiancé are not particularly religious, and they honestly have no objections to polygamous relationships in general.
She Doesn’t Want To Deal With This On Her Special Day
To be honest, though, she just frankly does not want to deal with the situation on her literal wedding day.
She Told Her Parents Their Partner Isn’t Invited
So, she ended up telling her dad that he and her mother were only invited as a courtesy. In turn, they had no parental privileges that she was obligated to consider– i.e., the throuple partner.
Her Dad Called Her Mean
Her dad just did not get that, though, and claimed that intentionally excluding their partner was mean.
Her Dad Took Shots At How Her Grandparents Raised Her
On top of that, her dad said that had he known her grandparents were going to raise her to be prejudiced, then he would not have left her to be raised by them.
Both Sets Of Her Grandparents Had No Idea About Her Mom And Dad’s Romantic Life
Anyway, following that conversation, she decided to talk to both sets of her grandparents about her father’s romantic arrangement. And apparently, nobody had any clue about his relationship.
Her Parents Planned To Use Her Wedding As A Way To Introduce Their Partner
“So, it seems that they were going to use my wedding to introduce this guy to the families,” she explained. And understandably, that did not fly with her.
She Doubled Down With Her Dad
In turn, she decided to call her dad back. Then, very firmly, she told him that she had spoken to her wedding coordinator to ensure that no uninvited guests would be let into her wedding.
And There Will Be Security At Her Wedding
It’s not like she was lying, either. Since she and her fiancé are having their reception at a resort hotel, there will be security.
She’s Doing Everything She Can To Make Sure Her Parents Don’t Bring Their Partner
She also went as far as to speak with the manager and explained that some uninvited guests might try to get into the event.
Security Is Ready If Her Parents Don’t Respect Her Wishes
Thankfully, though, the manager reassured her that security would escort any intruders off of the property and the police would be called if needed.
Her Parents Are Now Complaining To Her Whole Family
Since telling all of that to her parents, though, they have not accepted her wishes for her wedding day. Instead, her parents have actually begun complaining to everyone else in her family!
Her Parents Haven’t Told Everyone The Truth
It appears that while complaining, though, her parents were not totally forthcoming about the entire situation.
People Are Calling Her To Find Out What’s Going On
“So I am dealing with it by telling everyone who calls me to fight for them exactly why I am excluding the person they want to bring,” she vented.
Her Mom Screamed At Her
And due to that, her mother has gotten seriously upset. In fact, her mom recently called her up and screamed at her for sharing private business with the rest of the family.
She Feels No Obligation To Her Mom And Dad
To be honest, though, she just does not feel like she has any obligation to her parents and made that very clear. So, if they want to attempt to disobey her wishes, then they should reap the consequences.
The Drama Is Weighing On Her
At the same time, though, all of this drama has been weighing heavy on her psyche. So now, she has been left wondering whether including her parent’s throuple partner from her wedding makes her a jerk or not.
