She Vanished In 2014 After Going On A Bad Date, Then Getting Into An Argument With Her Roommate, And Six Other Women From Her Hometown Disappeared During The Same Time Period
Born on June 5, 1986, Charlotte Eliza Trego grew up with her family in Chillicothe, Ohio, and even though she was the youngest of her three siblings, she always stood out from the crowd.
“She was more loud than the rest of them. She’d like to have a lot of fun,” recalled Yvonne Boggs, Charlotte’s mother.
As a child, Charlotte and her family would often go fishing. In her hometown, there wasn’t much else to do aside from exploring the great outdoors, so activities like boating, canoeing, and hiking were common.
According to Yvonne, Charlotte was a “tomboy” who absolutely loved the simple things – like playing in the creek or climbing some trees. She also had a very tight-knit relationship with her father, Richard Trego, who was a stock car driver.
However, when Charlotte was still just a young girl, Yvonne and Richard got divorced. Then, in 2002, Richard passed away following a prostate cancer diagnosis, and the loss was especially hard on Charlotte.
“She took it the worst. I mean, because she was really close to her dad,” Yvonne said.
While dealing with the grief, Charlotte’s life began to unravel. Her grades at school started to slip, and her mom realized that she was going through some changes.
Yvonne’s daughter, who was previously boisterous and outgoing, was becoming more reserved and distant from their family. Then, Charlotte reportedly “got messed up with the wrong crowd.”
So, at the age of 16, Charlotte had her first baby – a daughter named Chloe – with a boy from her high school. Apparently, he even wanted to marry Charlotte, but Yvonne wouldn’t let that happen. She knew that the baby’s father had a record involving drugs, and she wanted to shield her family from that.

Unfortunately, though, Charlotte had already gotten mixed up with the same crowd. Yvonne detailed how she knew her daughter’s problem had become dire when Charlotte asked for money to pay back a drug dealer.
“I said, ‘Charlotte, I’m not going to pay your drug bills,'” Yvonne said. She also told her daughter that if nothing changed, Charlotte would end up going missing or dying.
Then, in May 2014, Charlotte disappeared, and her family has still been searching for answers ever since.
At the time, Charlotte was 27-years-old and living with a roommate on Ewing Street in Chillicothe, Ohio. On May 3, 2014, Yvonne took both Charlotte and her daughter, Chloe, out to eat dinner. During the meal, Charlotte was reportedly in good spirits and revealed how she was going on a date.
So, later that same evening, Yvonne called Charlotte to see how everything had gone on the date. But, she learned the outing didn’t go well, even though Charlotte wouldn’t go into further detail.
According to Yvonne, it was during this same conversation that Charlotte also asked for help getting into a rehabilitation facility. Charlotte had been put into rehab before, but this time, it was different since she was asking for help on her own.
“She says, ‘Mom, will you get me into a lockdown rehab? I said absolutely,” Yvonne explained.
However, this was tragically the last time Yvonne ever spoke to her daughter again.
When the pair didn’t speak the following day, she knew that something was wrong – because Yvonne never went a day without talking to Charlotte. She tried calling around and searching for her daughter, but after too much time passed, Yvonne ultimately reported Charlotte missing on May 18, 2014.
It came to light that the same night Charlotte spoke to her mom about going to rehab, she got into an argument with her roommate. Afterward, Charlotte reportedly left her residence on foot and was never seen again.
From 2014 to 2015, six other women from Chillicothe, Ohio, also vanished – three of whom were ultimately found deceased. Yvonne claims that Charlotte actually knew a few of these women since they ran in the same circles.
First was Tameka Lynch, a 30-year-old woman who went missing on the same day as Charlotte. They were best friends who met in high school.
Tameka’s remains were found in Paint Creek, Ohio, on May 24, 2014. She was wearing just a pair of socks, and her death was ruled as a drug overdose.
Next was Wanda Lemons, a 37-year-old woman who went missing on November 3, 2014. According to a friend of Wanda’s, she may have gone out with a male truck driver and traveled to Texas – where her family lived. But she was never seen again.
Shasta Himelrick, a 20-year-old woman who was pregnant, then went missing on December 6, 2014. Her remains were discovered in the Scioto River one week later, and her death was ruled a suicide – which her family disputed.
Finally, Tiffany Sayre, a 26-year-old woman, vanished on May 11, 2015. One month later, her remains were found wrapped in a sheet along Cave Road – which is about 30 miles west of Chillicothe.
It is speculated that Charlotte’s disappearance may be connected to some of the other missing persons cases in Chillicothe during the same time period. Yvonne also decided to hire a forensic intelligence analyst after becoming disgruntled by the lack of progress in her daughter’s investigation.
Angela Clemente, a forensic intelligence analyst focusing on corruption cases, offered her services pro bono to Yvonne and is also assisting the families of Wanda Lemons and Tiffany Sayre. Angela suspects that Charlotte has passed away and claims to have discovered the circumstances of her death and the location of her remains.
“We have the evidence. We have what we need. We’ve solved the case. So we’re ready to go forward if we have somebody that actually tells the truth,” Angela said in an interview with Dateline.
She also claimed that the Chillicothe Police Department and the Ross County Sheriff’s Office are deliberately not solving Charlotte’s case. She suspects this is because the individuals responsible for Charlotte’s death are police informants.
“We’ve had meetings with the Department of Justice on this. I actually talked to the BCI [Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation],” Angela stated.
Still, Yvonne continues to fight for answers and justice in her daughter’s case, as well as for the families of other missing women in Chillicothe. A Facebook page entitled “Find Charlotte Trego” has been created, and Yvonne has held vigils with the families of other victims.
“There’s more to it than meets the eye. Charlotte, deep down, was a good person. She would do anything in the world for anyone. She didn’t deserve what she got,” Yvonne said.
At the time of her disappearance, Charlotte was five foot four, weighed 150 pounds, and had brown hair and blue eyes.
She also had various tattoos, including a flower tattoo on her right ankle and a tattoo of the name “Chloe” underneath a flower band on her arm.
